O-Ring Replacement on Arag 1 1/2" Strainer

The strainer on lawn and tree care sprayers is an often-overlooked component, but it plays a critical role in the system. Its job is to filter out large debris before it reaches the pump, preventing damage and ensuring reliable operation. Because it’s a common wear item, the strainer should be inspected and serviced regularly to keep your skid sprayer performing at its best. We recommend cleaning the filter daily, or every few days. Failing to maintain the strainer can lead to pump issues, including blown diaphragms and stuck valves.

Most Gregson-Clark skid sprayers include the 1½″ Arag strainer assembly. While the inlet and outlet barb sizes may vary depending on the pump, the o-rings used on the barbs are the same.

This video demonstrates how to disassemble the strainer and highlights the o-rings needed for proper servicing and replacement.
