Modular Liquid De-Icing Pumping Unit w/ Reel
Gregson-Clark Modular Liquid De-Icing Pumping Unit
The Gregson-Clark Modular Liquid De-Icing Pumping Unit is a compact, self-contained solution designed to turn virtually any existing tank into a fully functional liquid de-icing sprayer. Built for flexibility and durability, this modular system is ideal for contractors and municipalities looking to expand or upgrade their liquid application capabilities without investing in a complete tank system.
This all-in-one pumping unit includes the engine, pump, suction strainer, and boom control valves, all securely mounted on a heavy-duty stainless steel frame. The integrated stainless steel fork-pocket design allows for easy loading and unloading, while the compact footprint—just 52" W x 24" D x 44" H—makes it an excellent fit for pickup trucks, flatbeds, and other utility vehicles.
Power is provided by a reliable Honda GX160 5.5 HP engine paired with a Pacer 2" centrifugal pump. Delivering up to 195 GPM at a maximum of 45 PSI, this combination provides strong, consistent performance for liquid de-icing applications. The system is plumbed with a high-flow filter assembly and a stainless steel, liquid-filled pressure gauge to ensure accurate monitoring and long-term reliability.
For added versatility, the unit is equipped with a Hannay 1520 hose reel featuring an upgraded stainless steel hub for superior corrosion resistance. The reel includes 50 feet of 1/2" hose and a manual rewind, with the option to upgrade to electric rewind for increased convenience and productivity.
The Modular Liquid De-Icing Pumping Unit can be paired with any Gregson-Clark de-icing spray boom and customized to control up to three lane sections. Each boom section is independently operated using 1" full-port Banjo valves, giving operators precise control over application coverage. An in-cab switch console provides simple on/off control for each boom section, keeping operation efficient and safe.
Pricing for this model includes a three-valve section. Single- or double-valve configurations are available—call for details and pricing.

Additional Accessories

Rate Control
Rate control provides precise application rates that will adjust as the operator increases or decreases speed. We use the Micro-Trak RoadMaster controller which allows for up to 3 boom sections. The monitor also keeps track of overall product usage .

Flow Meter
Flow meters can be added to any system to monitor overall application rates. We use the Micro-Trak FlowMate system which consist of the turbine and the control box. The box is kept in the cab of the vehicle out of the elements. The control box can be used to record a running total or can be cleared by job for accurate measurements.

Deep Cell Battery
A dedicated deep cell battery can be added to the unit to allow the de-icer to be a self contained unit. Standard configuration use the trucks battery to power the boom valves. A deep cell battery allows the unit to be easily moved to a new truck in the event of a truck malfunction.

Electric Start Engine
Electric start VS pull start is based on personal preference. All Gregson-Clark De-Icing sprayers can be upgraded to electric start engines.
